Join us for a little "historical madness" with local author and history guru Ed Bonner.  Ed's new book, Historical Madness, explores the weirdest and wildest tales from in and around the Pittsburgh area.

Edward Bonner, renowned for his insightful historical narratives and engaging storytelling, has released his latest work, "Historical Madness." This book dives into the rich and often chilling history of Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the Great Lakes area, bringing to light stories that resonate with both the known and the unknown. From the eerie tale of the Green Man to the violent clashes over union rights, Bonner crafts a compelling narrative that blends historical facts with captivating storytelling. This profound exploration includes the origin of Mother's Day, tracing the holiday back to its roots in West Virginia through the life and efforts of Anna Jarvis. The chapter not only highlights Jarvis's creation of the holiday but also her subsequent battle against its commercialization, adding depth to the broader narrative of regional and national history.

"Historical Madness" is not just a book; it's an experience that takes readers on a journey through time, exploring places that are both geographically familiar and historically obscure. Edward Bonner's meticulous research and personal encounters add a unique authenticity to each story, whether it's about Lobster Boy's tragic life in the carnival world or Madame Marie Curie's secretive experiments in the region.
